Stan Owings, MS, CDMS

Stan Owings has been a rehabilitation counselor since 1976. He is nationally certified as a disability management specialist and as a vocational expert. He is a registered vocational rehabilitation counselor with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. An area of specialty is provision of services to persons that have an acquired brain injury. Stan received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon in 1973 and his Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1976. He began employment in the field of rehabilitation with the Rehabilitation Services Division of the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries in 1976. Stan received the Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute outstanding alumnus award in 1982. He established Owings & Associates, Inc. in 1983 which is a rehabilitation counseling firm specializing in provision of services such as vocational rehabilitation counseling, case management, life care planning for the cognitively impaired and expert witness testimony. The litigation areas in which cases are typically handled by Stan and his staff include personal injury, medical malpractice, FELA, maritime, Longshore, worker's compensation, dissolution and employment. Services provided usually involve cases in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. Stan is an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP), the IARP Forensic Section, the National Rehabilitation Association, the American Board of Vocational Experts and the Brain Injury Association.
